Junji Yoshida, Ph.D.
Instructor in Japanese Studies and Honorary Post-Doctoral Fellow
Ph.D. in Japanese Literature and Film from the University of Oregon in 2006. Dissertation title: "Origins of Japanese Film Comedy and the Question of Colonial Modernity"
My field of interests includes Modern Japanese Literature, film comedy; nationalism and colonial resistance; late Marx and Althusser; history of humor, satire, and cynicism; "light novel"; Gender/queer studies; and everything else related to limits of representation.

Sei-Jin Chang, Ph.D.
I received my Ph.D. from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. My dissertation was about the imagined America in Korean modern literature, especially from the 1950s and Korean War era. I have come here with the support of the Korean Research Foundation, and my research will include American Cold War culture.
Yeqing Lin, Ph.D
Associate Professor of the Center for Art Education at Tsinghua University, P.R.China.
My research interests focus on classical Chinese theater and traditional Chinese culture.
Lee-moi Pham, Ph.D.
Ms. Pham is here with the support of the Luce/ACLS Initiative on East and Southeast Asian Archaeology and Early History. She got her Ph.D from National Taiwan University with the dissertation title: Early Chinese Manuscripts and the Written Tradition of the Book of Odes.
Zaixing Zhang
I’m from East China Normal University, Shanghai, China. My special interest is in Digital Processing for Ancient Chinese Characters. Sponsored by the Chinese Government, I’ll work with Professor Edward Shaughnessy on a program about Ancient Chinese bronze inscriptions.
