Teaching/Research Interests:
Early development of Chinese vernacular literature, the symbiotic relationship between fiction and drama, traditional criticism of fiction and drama, intertextuality, narratology, and a new annotated translation of the 16th century novel Chin P'ing Mei (The plum in the golden vase).
