Bio
Dr. Hsieh holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Cambridge and has taught in diverse international academic settings. Prior to joining the University of Chicago, she was a Senior Lecturer at Princeton University, where she led the design and implementation of the institution's first algorithm-driven, computer-adaptive language placement test. Dedicated to pedagogical innovation, she develops interdisciplinary advanced Chinese courses and actively integrates community-engaged learning into the language classroom. As a researcher, Dr. Hsieh focuses on Chinese linguistics and second language acquisition, with her work appearing in top-tier peer-reviewed journals such as Applied Linguistics and System.
